Mysuru declared cleanest city in Swachh Sarvekshan 2016
Mysuru city from Karnataka has been ranked first in terms of cleanliness for second time in row among the 73 surveyed cities in Swachh Sarvekshan 2016.
It was announced by Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu the Swachh Survekshan 2016 award function held in New Delhi.
The Ranking of the Swachh Survekshan Survey 2016 were conducted by Quality council of India QCI .
Top 10 Clean Cities are :-
- Greater Mumbai
India’s First Lightest Gun NIDAR launched
- India’s first indigenously developed Lightest revolver NIDAR weighing 250 grams was successfully launched.
- It has been designed and manufactured by the state-run Rifle Factory Ishapore located in West Bengal giving boost to the ‘Make In India’ Initiative in small manufacturing sector.
- NIDAR is much lighter than NIRBHEEK 500 grams revolver which was exclusively designed for women.
- It is .22 caliber gun with 40-mm barrel and is only 140 mm in length. It has a range 7 meters with precise accuracy.
It has cylinder capacity of eight bullets and made up of DTD5124 alloy of aluminum which is very light in weight and has supreme metal strength.
First Silk Road Train Arrives in Tehran from China
The first long distance cargo train connecting Iran and China has arrived in the Iranian capital city Tehran after starting its journey from China.
The train had started its Journey from China’s Eastern Zhejiang province and it took 14 days to reach final destination. It had covered around 9,500 kilometer distance and passed through two Central Asain countries Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan.
The Silk Road was an ancient network of commercial and sea routes that was named for the lucrative Chinese Silk trade. Tis trade route was central to business across the Asian continent connecting China with the Mediterranean Sea.
Prithvi II Missile successfully test- fired from Chandipur
Indigenously developed Prithvi-II Missile was successfully test fired from the Chandipur, off Odisha Coast. Test was conducted by the Strategic Force Command and was monitored by the scientists from DRDO Defence Research Development Organization.
Prithvi-II missile is the First missile to be developed by DRDO under India’s prestigious IGMDP ( Integrated Guided Missile Development Program).
It is surface to surface medium range ballistic missile with a strike range of 350 Km.
